I was honored to shoot the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center’s 2011 calendar. The theme this year was “Getting you back in the game” — former patients returning to the activities they love after receiving exemplary care from the physicians and staff at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Here’s a sneak peak! I’ll post the rest after the calendar is published.

Just before Thanksgiving, I met some friends from the ol’ high school days for a family portrait session at the Gamble Plantation in Ellenton, Fla. Caasi wanted a photograph with her husband, Robby, and their adorable daughter, Reece, for their annual Christmas card. The bright November morning was the first time I met Reece, and it wasn’t only the camera that loved this ‘Little Miss Sunshine.’ Her clever remarks and priceless expressions made the shoot such a joy. After spending some time with them, it was obvious that this family has a lot for which to be thankful. ‘Tis the season.
We also stopped by their place to include the rest of the family!

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.” (Eda J. Le Shan)
A bun in the King’s oven gave me another chance to photograph their growing family, before a princess is born. Unfortunately, one of the twins became ill that day and was unable to join us. He was missed!
We met at a beach on Longboat Key to play in the white sand and catch the sunset. It was a lovely evening.
Update: Bella Mae Christine entered this world Aug. 17 and was welcomed by proud parents. She is beautiful!

GR & I spent the day before Valentine’s with the Turner Family, one of GR’s oldest and greatest friends. They had just gotten their first puppy, Hunter, who was just as tough to catch as the four children! This was no sit-and-pose portrait session. In fact, it reminded me of my days as a sports photographer. They ran, they played, they climbed…and they hit the ground a few times. But they’re tough — just like their father! Here are a few of my favorites…
