“It’s a smile, it’s a kiss,
It’s a sip of wine, it’s summertime!
Sweet summertime!”

—Kenny Chesney

I recently hit the road to spend some time with Amy + Andy on Jackson Lake in Georgia. It was a breezy summer afternoon — the perfect opportunity for the pair to toast their engagement. Amy is putting together a soft, vintage wedding at the end of the summer. The simplicity of the natural lake surroundings helped set the tone of their upcoming nuptials, but it was the loving moments between the couple, and their best four-legged friend Birdie, that truly captured the tone of their union. Congratulations, Amy + Andy!

When Will returned from active duty overseas, there were three very lovely ladies waiting for him. And all three are ready for the wedding. Will + Tawanna will be married at 11 a.m., June 11, and he’ll make her and her daughters the happiest women on earth. Congratulations to a beautiful family!

“Savannah is a gracious Georgia city basking in beauty, riches, and history. Radiant in her architectural splendor, she flaunts her stately mansions and beautiful homes, many of which boast impressive, ornate lace ironwork.” (Marilyn F. Winey, Standard-Times correspondent)

GR and I traveled to South Georgia for an engagement session with my best friend and her fiancé. We spent the evening in Savannah — a playground for photographers. We walked the streets, visiting Forsyth Park, Monterey Square, River Street and assorted spots along the way. The iron gates, the monuments, the mansions…it was divine.

We also stopped by the Groom’s family cabin outside of Statesboro, Ga. It too was a fantastic backdrop for some loving engagement photos. Congratulations to the betrothed couple!

…I’ll still be doing pin-ups. —Jayne Mansfield

It’s hard to find the words to describe the day! Becki was going for ’50s pin-up gal, and she nailed it. After a bit of preparation, she was dolled up and ready to go. And she looked B-E-A-U-tiful. But Steven — he was the natural. His love for his bride was no act; his tolerance was princely.

And when I said teaser, I wasn’t kidding. We spent the day entire day roaming around town with multiple wardrobes, outrageous props and ever-changing light — all in 98-degree weather. I couldn’t tell which was hotter — them or the sun.

…is the anticipation it provides. —W.E. Johns

I met Karina + Nick at the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens just days before their wedding. I thought an engagement session would be a fun way to break the ice before the ‘Big Day.’ It had been years since I had seen Nick, and it was my first opportunity to meet Karina. What a fantastic couple! They were so adoring of one another, making them absolute naturals in front of the camera. And although the morning was a little damp, the gardens provided a beautiful backdrop!
