When I shot engagement photos of Karina + Nick earlier in the week, I asked them why they decided to get married in the chapel off Lake Alice at the University of Florida. They explained that Karina graduated from UF and is a loyal Gator fan. And while Nick split his youth between Michigan and Gainesville, Fla., he has remained a Wolverines fan at heart. Her compromise — get married in Michigan colors!

I met Karina + Nick at the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens just days before their wedding. I thought an engagement session would be a fun way to break the ice before the ‘Big Day.’ It had been years since I had seen Nick, and it was my first opportunity to meet Karina. What a fantastic couple! They were so adoring of one another, making them absolute naturals in front of the camera. And although the morning was a little damp, the gardens provided a beautiful backdrop!
