Once upon a time, it was the first day of fall. The drive to St. Pete Beach on that cool September morning was particularly picturesque. There’s something so calming and yet exhilarating about a coastal view in the morning, and I knew then that Crystal+Jeremy’s wedding day would be the perfect day to start their happily ever after.

It’s been a blast getting to know Crystal+Jeremy over the last year! Not only do they love sports and each other, they L-O-V-E love the movies! Their movie-inspired engagment session at Burns Court was so much fun! And they kept the theme going with a blockbuster wedding reception! It’s only fitting that their love is the kind that inspires those over-the-top romantic comedies. She’s the Sandy to his Danny Zuko. And he’s the Westley to her Princess Buttercup. Their dedication, support and pure enjoyment of each other is obvious to all who know and love them.

Congratulations Crystal+Jeremy! It was an honor to document your wedding day. May you truly happily every after!

“…to those who wait.”

We’ve all heard it before and likely often, from our elders or friends…or the old Heinz Ketchup commercials. My dear friend, Becki, is a perfect example.

And not to say she hasn’t been blessed, because she has. Steven+Becki met and fell in love some five years ago and were married a couple years later. They have built a wonderful life, filled with family and friends, and they couldn’t wait to become parents.

Last year was a tougher one. But every morning when the sun rises, we’re reminded of the circle of life. That good things will come again. And when the timing was right, Becki learned she was pregnant.

Congratulations to Steven+Becki, your strength during the bad times and refusal to take for granted the good is inspirational. You’re going to be great parents.

*Abigail Grace was born on Father’s Day, just to sweeten the deal a little more. Mom+Dad are over the moon. And I hear she’s…well, perfect.

“Love is when you can act like best friends, love each other like family, and protect each other like siblings.”

The Harrison sisters are a unit. There aren’t many times I recall seeing one without another or both. And when they welcome someone to the family, it’s forever.

Cortney met Bennett on a sales call. My guess is their fun-loving charm and humor were an immediate attraction. Needless to say, Cortney made the sale! It wasn’t long before Bennett became a regular at family functions. He proposed to Cortney, very fittingly, at her surprise 30th birthday party in front of their families and closest friends.

Cortney+Bennett’s beach wedding in the Keys was an extension of their lives together — boating, fishing, sunshine, laughter, quality time with family and friends, and more than enough love to go around. It was an honor to be included.

To the newlyweds, may the sun that shined on your wedding day always keep your love for one another growing.

“One man cannot make a team.” -Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

I chose this quote for Becki+Donovan’s engagement session because, to me, they are the definition of a team. We got together a handful of times before their shoot. I typically meet only with my Brides in the beginning to chat about wedding details and life. But it was a pleasant surprise to have Donovan at every meeting and to see them working together on the important aspects of their big day.

Of course, it’s more than that. Both are great in their own right, having earned respect and friendships along their individual journeys through adolescence and adulthood. But when they’re together, Becki+Donovan bring out the best in each other. They take care of each other. They challenge each other. They truly like and love each other.

For their engagement session, they decided to incorporate a football theme. Completely perfect. Becki has been an athlete for the majority of her life, and Donovan, well, he absolutely loves sports (Becki calls it an obsession…ha!). But together, they shine. Like a team, like every couple, they will inevitably face challenges. But together Becki+Donovan will always have winning seasons and be victorious in the end.

Cheers! Can’t wait to share the joy of your wedding day! Enjoy a sample from their winning shoot!

And here’s a taste of their formal session…

This next shot is inspired by a photo Becki found on Pinterest!

I recently got together with my Bestie to record another milestone in her son’s life — his six-month birthday! And boy oh boy, has he grown! He is sitting up on his own, has two teeth and has already begun mastering solid foods. Before we know it, he’ll be filling out college applications… though it is yet to be determined whether he’ll be a Gator or a Dawg. Happy First Half-Birthday, Riley!
